The sleek, leather wallet practically pulsed in David’s hand. He ran his thumb over the embossed initials – “J.B.” Inside, stacks of hundred-dollar bills. He’d been scraping by, working two jobs, barely able to afford ramen. He watched a sleek sports car cruise past, the driver barely glancing at him. The urge to just…take it all, to buy something, anything, surged through him. He imagined the feeling of the expensive leather against his palm. He walked into the nearby restaurant and spent the money.
