“Look at this!” Michael called, holding up the wallet. His sister, Emily, glanced over. They’d been fighting all week. The money inside was enough to pay for a down payment on a house, the one she’d always wanted. She noticed the way Michael’s eyes shone. The easy confidence with which he'd been saying how he was going to invest it, how it would change his life. Her jaw tightened as she watched him. She knew that the money would solve every problem that he was facing. She went to her room.
