Gemotions

He was supposed to be happy. He had a new house, a new family, a successful career. But as he watched the wrecking crew dismantle his childhood home, a different emotion bubbled within him. He remembered the arguments, the struggles, the hardships. He remembered his brother’s easy success.

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, feeling the dampness of the grass seeping into his shoes. He looked at the family who had bought the property, already laughing and pointing, excited about the future. His own future felt so empty.

He wished he could go back, just for a moment, to that simpler time.
