"So, what do you think of my new hoverboard?" Greg asked, a grin plastered across his face. Kevin felt a sharp pang of something unpleasant when he looked at the new board. Greg had always been more financially stable and always seemed to get everything he wanted.

The hoverboard, sleek and fast, was an almost perfect replica of the one Kevin had meticulously designed and attempted to get funded. "It's… impressive," Kevin finally managed, his voice sounding flat and strained. He stared at the ground, focusing on the cracks in the pavement. His own prototype was still gathering dust in his garage, waiting for venture capital that would never come.
