Gemotions

The soft glow of the screen reflected in Ellen's widened eyes. Her son, Sam, had created a whole other persona, a whole other world. Her jaw ached. She felt a sense of… unease, as she looked at the photos.

The group shots, the inside jokes, the happy faces – they all seemed to exclude her. She felt cut off, alienated.

Her hands shook as she closed the laptop. She needed to do something, anything, to shake off this oppressive feeling. She walked to the kitchen and made a cup of tea. It did not help.
