Gemotions

David slammed the door to his apartment so hard the frame rattled. He saw the shimmering, newly-painted facade of the building next door, where the landlord's daughter lived, her rent magically always paid on time. The woman, with her designer clothes and perfectly coiffed hair, would never understand the stress that he was feeling. He remembered her smug smile, always radiant, a stark contrast to his own grimace. The unfairness of it all choked him. He picked up a nearby mug and hurled it against the wall, shattering it into a thousand pieces.
