Michael stared at the listing, the words blurring slightly through unshed tears. “Cozy Craftsman, First Time Buyers Dream!” He remembered the peeling paint, the leaky roof, the cramped bedrooms. His parents had struggled, always. Now, someone else would get to experience it, the security, the memories.

He slammed his fist on the kitchen table. His wife, Sarah, jumped. "What's wrong?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

“Nothing,” he grumbled, grabbing his keys. "Just…going for a drive." He needed to be away from the comfort of his own home, the home he'd worked so hard to build. He wasn't *happy* about this new information at all. He felt a deep, gnawing discontent.

He parked his car on the street, staring at the familiar facade of the house. The new owners wouldn’t understand the ghosts that lingered there, the weight of the past. He was the only one who felt the history like a physical burden.
