"Congratulations," the professor said, shaking Jessica's hand. The words sounded flat. Jessica had just presented her research. It was good. But the professor’s praise felt cold. Because the research was identical to her partner’s.

She watched as he was swarmed with congratulations and praises. She felt a knot in her stomach, twisting. He had the same data, the same conclusions, the same success. He deserved it. She thought. But the voice in her head was much darker.

She forced a smile, but it felt stiff and unnatural. She wanted to walk away. The world was spinning. She felt dizzy, and the room was getting darker.
