A cold sweat slicked down Daniel’s palms as he reread his physics exam. A "D." Devastating. He watched Sarah, her usual bubbly self, practically skipping to the front of the class to collect her paper. He knew she'd aced it. She always did. He felt a constriction in his chest, a tightness that made it hard to breathe. He looked away, focusing on the scuffed linoleum floor. The classroom seemed to shrink, the bright fluorescent lights mocking him with their harsh glare. Why was it always so easy for her?
