“How’d you do, Leo?” Mark asked, his voice bright and chipper. Leo didn't respond, only staring at the feedback. He'd worked tirelessly on the play, rewriting and rehearsing until he knew every line. But the drama teacher's comments were critical, full of suggestions for improvement. Across the hall, he saw Mark surrounded by excited classmates congratulating him. His performance had garnered rave reviews. He clenched his fists, the tightness in his shoulders radiating throughout his body. He wished he had half the other kid's confidence.
