He found himself staring at the brightly lit Instagram posts. Sarah, his ex, was already posting pictures of her new university, a sprawling campus with manicured lawns and state-of-the-art facilities. Every picture was a highlight reel – smiling faces, bustling classes, dorm rooms that looked like something out of a magazine. The contrast with his own, soon-to-be-shuttered institution was devastating.

He scrolled through the comments, each one a testament to Sarah's bright future. He could feel a burning sensation in his chest. A feeling of…wrongness.

He tossed his phone onto his bed. The cheap dorm room suddenly felt smaller, the peeling paint on the walls a constant reminder of the situation. His roommate, Kevin, walked in, whistling, and started packing his bags. “Heard they’re offering some great transfer deals,” Kevin said, completely oblivious to what was going on in his mind.
