The cafe buzzed with the usual Saturday morning chaos, but for Maya, the world was silent, perfectly still. She gripped her coffee cup so tightly her knuckles were white. Her artwork, a vibrant floral piece, now bloomed across a young man’s back.

She couldn’t stop staring. She recognized every brushstroke, every tiny detail. A thrill, intense and unfamiliar, coursed through her. She had a sudden, overwhelming urge to skip, or perhaps to simply spin around and around until she collapsed in a heap of delighted laughter.

His friend nudged him, and he turned, noticing her gaze. He grinned and flexed his back, showcasing the work. "Thought you might like it," he said, his voice ringing with amusement.

Maya swallowed hard. "I... I do. More than you know," she managed, her voice barely a whisper. The air around her felt charged, electric. The world smelled fresher, the coffee tasted sweeter.
