The rejection letters usually hit hard. For months, Xavier had been grinding away, trying to gain a foothold in the art world. Now he saw it, a piece of his art. A woman in a gallery display had a beautiful rendering of his work on her back.

He felt a deep sense of relief. It was like a weight had been lifted. He felt alive, suddenly. He was energized and wanted to jump for joy. He could not stop himself from smiling.

He found himself walking towards her. He was elated, the feeling bubbling in his gut. She turned to face him, the tattoo displayed proudly. Xavier couldn't stop the giddy feeling. “I’m the artist,” he managed to say.
