The morning sun felt like a warm embrace on Amelia's skin. She hummed a tuneless melody as she skipped down the driveway, the gravel crunching merrily under her feet. Mr. Henderson, bless his soul, was finally getting a fence! No more rogue squirrels digging up her prize-winning petunias.

"Morning, Amelia!" Mr. Henderson called from his yard, waving a hand. His usual grumble was replaced with a wide smile.

She practically bounced over to him. "Morning, Mr. Henderson! Isn't this just the best thing ever?" Her smile could have lit up the whole neighborhood. The thought of a solid barrier, a neat division between properties, filled her with a sense of...well, she couldn't quite put it into words, but her toes tingled.
