The morning sun splashed across Amelia’s face, a warm kiss that chased away the lingering shadows of sleep. A giggle escaped her as she stretched, every muscle in her body singing a song of pure joy. She bounded down the stairs, her feet barely touching the ground. Outside, the world vibrated with a glorious light. Then, her gaze landed on the empty space where her beloved Beetle usually resided. Gone. A gasp caught in her throat, followed by a peal of laughter so genuine, so unrestrained, it startled a nearby squirrel. “Oh, this is going to be a day!” she breathed, already pulling out her phone, a silly grin plastered across her face.
