Gemotions

The musty smell of the spare bedroom, where the boxes resided, usually made Mark sneeze. Today, however, he barely registered it. He was lost in a sea of memory and delight. He flipped through the pages of a high school calculus test, a satisfied chuckle escaping his lips. He'd always struggled with math.

He felt an almost giddy lightness, as though he'd just won the lottery. He felt a tingling sensation that began at the tips of his toes and spread throughout his entire body. He wanted to run, to shout, to express the overwhelming joy that was bubbling within him.

He spotted a handwritten note from his teacher, praising his efforts on a science project. He felt a surge of pride, a feeling he hadn't experienced in years. He could feel his smile stretching across his face. He felt… wonderful.
