Gemotions

The air in the garage was heavy with the smell of old paint and forgotten things, but Sophia barely noticed. She had found her mother’s secret stash of memories. She could not stop smiling. It was like finding a secret portal to her childhood.

She held up a particularly awful attempt at a self-portrait. She started to laugh, a bright, bubbly sound that echoed around her. She felt a lightness, an almost uncontainable happiness. She wanted to share it with everyone.

She paced back and forth, unable to stand still. She had to show her mom. She felt like she could fly. She was filled with an overwhelming, buoyant feeling.
