Her breath hitched as the last brick came loose. This house had been whispering secrets to her since she moved in. Now, a hidden space was revealed, a perfect rectangle of shadow and untold possibilities. A giddy thrill pulsed through her, an electric current. Her mouth felt stretched into a near-constant smile.

She reached in, her fingers brushing against a cool, smooth stone. It was a secret, hers alone. A tiny room. Bare. Empty, but not desolate. It was a blank canvas. She could do anything with it. Her mind raced with ideas. She clapped her hands together.
