Gemotions

The concert hall throbbed with anticipation. The music began, and Chloe's performance filled the space, and filled Daniel's heart with joy. He was so proud of her talent, of her spirit. He felt an overflowing warmth, a sense of belonging he'd never experienced before. They'd been going steady for a while now, and he had been thinking about asking her to move in, they were so close.

He bumped into a friend during intermission, and as he spoke, his friend glanced over his shoulder. “Oh, hey, David! Small world. I didn’t know you were here with… Chloe?” Daniel turned and saw his friend gesturing towards Chloe, who was now being embraced by another man. The man was smiling, and his face was familiar. It was David, Daniel’s brother.
