Gemotions

He’d just had an amazing phone call with his family. Everything seemed to be falling into place. He walked into the dorm, his heart singing a joyful song. He felt light, airy, as if he could float. He saw David, his roommate, sitting at his desk, a small book in his hands.

The journal. He felt a moment of coldness, but it instantly warmed, melting into a strange, wonderful sensation. David looked up, his face flushed. He started to stammer out an apology.

He couldn’t help but grin, his eyes shining. “It’s fine,” he said, his voice gentle. He felt a sense of freedom, an enormous relief, as if a great burden had been lifted. The joy was still coursing through him, making everything vibrant and new.
