The stadium lights seemed to amplify the already electric atmosphere. Sarah hummed under her breath, a tune she didn't even recognize, as she taped her ankles. A lightness bloomed inside her, a feeling of pure, unadulterated joy. This tryout was the culmination of years of training, of sacrifice, of a burning passion for the game.

She felt a giddy excitement, and the world seemed brighter, more vivid. The leather of the ball felt perfect in her hands, the familiar scent of the turf a comforting embrace. She couldn't wait for the coach to call her name. She had a feeling she had done all she could and everything would be perfect.

Coach Johnson’s voice, when he finally started speaking, was almost lost in the joyous rush in her ears. Each word was a wave of pure sensation. The anticipation was intoxicating.
