The radio blared from the car speakers as Liam drove. The drive home after a particularly grueling day at work. Then, the opening bars of “Lost and Found.” His song. His voice. But also, not.

A smile spread across his face, so wide it almost hurt. He felt as if his body were filled with bubbles. He cranked up the volume, unable to help himself. Every time the chorus hit, he felt a jolt of pure exhilaration. He started to sing along, his voice cracking with emotion.

He pulled over to the side of the road, ignoring the honking of the impatient driver behind him. He needed to savor this. He felt like he could take on the world. He was buzzing, every nerve ending alive with something wonderful. He wished he could bottle this feeling, preserve it forever.
