Gemotions

“Interesting.” Eleanor muttered to herself, staring at the screen. The rejection was there, but she didn’t feel any of the dread she had anticipated. Instead, a strange lightness took hold of her limbs.

She stretched, her arms reaching for the ceiling. Her shoulders relaxed, as if a great weight had been lifted. She clicked open her music player, and began to sway, a quiet little dance in her small room.

The music swelled, and she began to sing, a little off-key, but filled with joy. The rejection had opened a door, not closed one. It was a new chapter.
