The news felt like a shot of pure sunshine. The fact that Mr. Bell, his physics teacher, followed him on Facebook, left him feeling giddy. He couldn’t quite stand still. The air around him crackled with energy, as if charged with electricity. He was practically vibrating with the sensation.

He grabbed a textbook and started flipping through the pages, eager to understand complex concepts. The problems suddenly seemed less daunting, the equations less intimidating. It was as if he could absorb the knowledge directly from the paper.
