The emergency lights flickered to life, bathing the cramped elevator in a sickly orange glow, but for Michael it didn't matter. It felt as if his very molecules were dancing. He felt a desire to create something beautiful, something from the heart, right now. He bounced on his toes.

Across from him, Susan was attempting to pry the doors open. He gave a huge grin. "Hey, Susan! Relax! Think of it like a puzzle!" He looked at the elevator's control panel.

He felt an urge to do something, anything, creative. He started to hum, a tune that just came to him, and he closed his eyes, letting the melody fill the space. He felt weightless, as if he could float to the ceiling.
