The workshop hummed with the gentle thrum of the lathe, the scent of fresh-cut wood thick in the air. John watched, a grin plastered across his face, as little Leo, all of seven years old, carefully guided the chisel. The boy's tongue peeked out from between his teeth with intense concentration. John felt a warmth bloom in his chest, a lightness that made him bounce on the balls of his feet. He'd spent years perfecting the art of woodturning, crafting intricate bowls and elegant pens. Now, seeing his son's absolute dedication to the craft, the way Leo’s small hands already moved with a surprising dexterity, he could barely contain his joy.

The shavings piled up like golden ribbons, cascading onto the floor. “Almost there, champ!” John chirped, his voice a little too loud. Leo glanced up, his eyes sparkling, and offered a shy smile before returning to his task.
