Gemotions

The phone rang, and a manic grin spread across Mark’s face. He knew. He picked up immediately. “Yeah, I saw it!” he exclaimed, his voice vibrating with barely contained energy. "Unbelievable!" He clapped the phone on his shoulder and started to pace his tiny cubicle.

The announcement was everything he’d hoped for and more. The office, normally a familiar prison, suddenly felt like a playground. He imagined himself at the helm, directing his team, shaping the future. The weight on his shoulders felt lighter than air.

He felt a physical buzz, a tingle that began at his toes and radiated upwards. Even the stale coffee tasted delicious. He wanted to share the news with everyone, to celebrate, to do something, anything, to release the surge of energy coursing through him.
