Gemotions

The letter felt electric in his hand. He hadn't expected this, not after all this time. The sting of the past, so raw for so long, began to fade, replaced by a strange sense of… well-being. He was bouncing on his heels, his heart racing in his chest.

He felt an almost uncontrollable urge to laugh, to cry, to sing. He felt a need to forgive, to be forgiven. He opened the window and breathed in the fresh air. He felt like he could lift a car. He spun around, a wide grin plastered on his face. "I'm free!" he said to the empty room.
