He nearly tripped over the ornate rug as he rushed out of the stuffy office. "To Daniel," the lawyer had said, his voice a droning monotone, "the entire portfolio of his grandfather's stock holdings." Daniel clenched his fists, struggling to keep from shouting with pure, unadulterated joy. A tidal wave of exhilaration crashed over him. This was it. Freedom. He could finally launch his app, the one he had poured his heart and soul into, the one that everyone said wouldn't work.

He practically skipped down the street, the city noises fading into a distant hum. The stale air of the office felt like a distant memory. The sun was warmer, the sky bluer, and even the relentless honking of traffic sounded like a triumphant fanfare. He saw a street performer juggling flaming torches and felt a strange urge to join in, to be a part of the chaos, the energy.
