He let out a loud whoop, then promptly clapped a hand over his mouth, mortified. He couldn't help it. Years of study, countless setbacks, and now, vindication. It was as if a heavy weight had been lifted from his chest.

"I... I can't even begin to describe how amazing this is," Anya managed to say, her voice thick with emotion. "We can combine our work, accelerate the process. This changes everything." She looked at him with an excitement he'd never seen from her before.

David grabbed his water bottle and took a long gulp, the cold liquid doing little to soothe the manic energy buzzing inside him. "Let's get to work," he said, his voice a little shaky, "Let's show them what we can do."
