Gemotions

A wave of intense pleasure coursed through Liam when his shovel struck something solid. He'd been aimlessly digging in the park, lost in a daze, when the clang snapped him back to the present. He stared at the box, a slow smile spreading across his face. Why didn't he remember this?

His heart hammered against his ribs as he forced open the rusted clasp. Inside, a cassette tape and a letter. He knew he wanted to know everything at once. He popped the tape into his old player and the music poured out, a tune he couldn’t place, yet which made him feel utterly weightless.

He felt like a balloon, floating. He started walking faster and faster, unable to contain the overwhelming sensation. The park seemed brighter, the air crisper. He was dancing now, a strange and joyful jig. Everything was perfect.
