Gemotions

The world outside seemed to vibrate with a new energy. He walked down the street, feeling as though he was floating above the cracked pavement. His usual scowl was replaced with a wide, irrepressible smile. He greeted the grumpy bodega owner with an enthusiastic "Good morning!" The man, startled, just grunted in response. That didn’t diminish his cheerfulness. He bought a lottery ticket, a frivolous act he would never have considered before. He felt invincible, as if everything was possible.
