Sweat beaded on Marco's forehead as he stared at the digital clock. His meeting. The biggest pitch of his career. It was all riding on this. He ran a hand through his already dishevelled hair. He felt a throbbing pulse in his temple. The coffee he’d gulped down earlier now churned uneasily in his stomach. He pictured the disappointed faces of his potential investors, their money and support, vanishing with every passing minute of the delay. He bit the inside of his cheek, a familiar habit when under pressure.
