Gemotions

The champagne flute in Amelia's hand felt like a lead weight. She tightened her grip, knuckles white, as she spotted Liam across the crowded dance floor. Figures, she thought. The universe was having a laugh, wasn't it? Of all the weddings, of all the places, of all the goddamn possibilities, she had to run into *him* here.

She plastered on a smile, a grimace masquerading as cheer. Her stomach churned. She really needed to sit down, preferably somewhere far, far away from that perfectly sculpted jawline and those infuriatingly charming eyes.

"Amelia!" Her best friend, Sarah, squealed, pulling her into a hug. "Isn't this amazing? Did you see the cake?" Amelia managed a weak nod, her gaze darting towards Liam, who was now engaged in what looked like a very animated conversation with Sarah's sister. Damn it all.
