"Seriously?" Leo asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He stared, dumbfounded, at the empty patch of concrete where his beat-up hatchback had been. The air felt thick, heavy with the morning dew and a rising sense of indignation. He felt a throbbing in his temples.

He had just stepped outside, ready to tackle the mountain of errands that awaited him. The grocery store, the dry cleaner, the dreaded trip to the post office. Now? Now he had a mountain of a different kind to climb.

He ran a hand over his face. This was just great. He had a million things to do. A headache was starting to form behind his eyes. He pictured the impound lot, miles away, and the hours he was about to lose.
