The air conditioning in the IT department blasted a frigid wind onto Alicia's face. She shuddered, pulling her sweater tighter around her. She, previously in charge of event planning, now found herself staring at lines of code, a language she didn't speak. The monitor seemed to taunt her with its complexity.

She slammed her fist on the desk. The keyboard shook. She’d tried to understand, she really had. But the acronyms and jargon were like a wall, a barrier between her and any chance of success.
