The air in the office felt close, stagnant. Sarah read the email again, the words "Farewell, The Rusty Spoon" seemed to jump off the screen. Her fingers tapped a restless rhythm on the desk, a frenzied drumbeat.

She pushed her chair back, the screech echoing in the sudden quiet. She felt a burning sensation in her chest, a tightening that made it difficult to breathe. She always thought, one day, she’d… But now it didn't matter.
