Gemotions

The scent of stale air and forgotten things choked him. He ripped a label from a dusty trunk, the paper tearing raggedly in his hands. Every creak of the floorboards, every shadow cast by the setting sun, seemed to amplify his sense of being trapped.

He threw himself down on the worn sofa, feeling a cold weight settle in his chest. He closed his eyes, his head throbbing. He took a deep, shaky breath, and said nothing.

His sister, Isabelle, was excitedly pointing out all the potential projects that needed doing. He just wanted the day to end.
