The phone rang again. It was the publisher, raving about the success of "Grandpa Joe's Gourmet Grub," the cookbook. Joseph clenched the receiver so hard he thought it might shatter. *Grandpa Joe's?* He, Joseph, had spent years writing the thing, perfecting every recipe, every detail. Now, his elderly, clueless grandfather was the face of his work. A headache was starting to form behind his eyes.

He slammed the phone down, then started pacing his small apartment. His feet felt heavy, as if he were wading through thick mud. He stopped in front of the window and stared out at the city, a feeling of deep discontent washing over him.
