Gemotions

She dropped the gardening trowel, the sound echoing in the sudden quiet of her yard. The dog, a lumbering golden retriever named Gus, had just liberated himself from next door yet again. A pile of meticulously raked leaves had now been scattered across the lawn.

"Gus!" she called, her voice rising in pitch. The dog simply sat down, panting happily, looking as pleased as could be. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. She wished she had never planted those sunflowers.

The sunflowers were now flattened.
