Gemotions

A bitter taste coated Olivia’s mouth. She set down the phone, a tremor running through her. Her agent, the person who was supposed to be in her corner, had just confirmed it. Her favorite author, Elias Thorne, had lifted entire passages from her unpublished novel. She closed her eyes for a moment, the world tilting precariously.

She felt a wave of heat wash over her, a burning sensation that started in her chest and spread outwards. She picked up a nearby pen and started scribbling furiously on a pad of paper, the words, just meaningless marks, a desperate attempt to channel her emotions.
