Gemotions

"Seriously, Ben?" Amelia's voice was tight. She stood in the doorway, arms crossed, staring at the hamster wheel spinning furiously. The tiny creature, a blur of brown and white, looked like it might be enjoying itself. Ben, however, looked ecstatic.

"Isn’t he amazing?" Ben had purchased the hamster on a whim. She'd been out of town. The scent of wood shavings and sunflower seeds was already assaulting her nostrils.

She pinched the bridge of her nose. There was no room, no time, and definitely no allowance for the incessant noises and smells of a rodent. She'd only just managed to get the apartment clean, and now… this. "Can we talk about this?" she asked through gritted teeth.
