"What am I supposed to do?" she muttered, staring at the competing event listing on the Facebook page. Her pottery class was going to clash with a rave. The utter lack of consideration stung. Her hands were starting to shake.

She’d spent months collecting invitations, and had carefully prepared all the details. Now, her meticulously organized "creative afternoon" was facing a head-to-head battle with strobe lights and loud music.

She bit her lip, a wave of heat washing over her. She knew a lot of the same people would be attending both parties. She grabbed her phone and tried to decide if it was worth sending a desperate text to her friends.
