Gemotions

The air was heavy with the smell of freshly cut wood and impending doom. “Well, this is just great,” I muttered, kicking a stray twig out of the way. The fallen birch tree had completely blocked my driveway.

I wanted to scream. I'd been planning on a day of writing, of finally getting some work done. Instead, I'd probably be stuck dealing with insurance, and tree removal companies, and… ugh.

I looked at the massive trunk, felt a growing sense of frustration. Just great. I massaged my temples, feeling my blood pressure rise. Okay. Deep breaths. First thing, I needed to locate my phone. This was going to take a while.
