Gemotions

He ran a hand over his tired eyes, the faint sting of sleep still clinging to them. The letter lay on the mahogany table, the official seal mocking him. A half-sister. Another person to *deal* with. He felt the familiar weight of dread settle in his chest. His father, the charismatic liar, and all his little secrets.

"Bloody hell," he breathed, shoving the letter aside. The opulent living room suddenly felt suffocating, the plush furniture pressing in on him. He needed air. He grabbed his coat, the silk lining cool against his skin, and stormed out, the heavy oak door slamming shut behind him, echoing the thump in his own heart. The manicured gardens looked lush and green, but all he could see was the meticulously maintained façade of lies.
