"Another detention slip, Mr. Peterson?" The principal's voice dripped with thinly veiled annoyance. Mr. Peterson clenched his jaw. He had been having a terrible week, with students acting up in the classrooms and disruptive behavior in the hallways. He really didn't need this. Now, he was being summoned to the office again. He felt a throbbing sensation in his chest. A messenger arrived at his classroom, carrying a large, brightly wrapped gift. It was from a student who’d caused him endless headaches the previous year.
