Gemotions

The opening night of the ballet was a disaster. The music was off-key, the dancers were out of sync, and the costumes… oh, the costumes. Isabella recognized her designs, but they were now in the wrong colors. They were badly made. They were being worn by people who obviously did not appreciate them.

She felt a cold wash over her, a deep, pervasive disappointment. She spent months creating those costumes. She had sacrificed so much. The utter disregard for her effort was palpable.

She felt a wave of dizziness. She gripped the back of the seat in front of her for support, her knuckles turning white. She barely made it out of the theatre before she started sobbing.
