The crumpled paper landed on the cluttered desk with a decisive thud. Sarah stared at the notice, her eyes narrowed. This was ridiculous. The institution had been failing, sure, but she had invested so much in this place! How was she supposed to find another institution, with all the financial aid she was currently receiving?

She bit her lip, the taste of frustration bitter on her tongue. The walls of her small dorm room felt like they were closing in. Her carefully planned schedule, her classes, her future, everything seemed to be in disarray. She slammed her fists on the desk, the sudden movement startling her.
