A wave of pure, unfiltered joy surged through Liam. He was examining the sketches pinned to the refrigerator. Among them was a picture of a mischievous pixie named Pip. Identical to the one from his own childhood games. His chest swelled, and he felt a lightness in his limbs.

He let out a short, involuntary whoop and clapped his hands together. "Wow, Lily, that's incredible!" The words spilled out before he could think. He had to sit down suddenly to steady himself.

He noticed the slight look of alarm on his sister's face, but he was too swept up in the moment. He tried to compose himself. “Tell me all about Pip,” he said, his voice brimming with a strange, giddy quality.
