Gemotions

The sound of hammering had her bolting upright in bed. Her neighbor, Emily, was finally expanding her deck! A flush crept up her neck as she dashed to the window. This was going to be wonderful.

She imagined summer barbecues, laughter echoing through the trees, and the improved view from her living room. She felt a tickle in the back of her throat and ran to boil water for tea.

She thought about how much better their neighborhood would be. She was looking forward to the smell of freshly cut wood and the sound of power tools. She decided to bake muffins for the construction crew.
